Hyrum the Kindergarten Graduate!

Hyrum is done with kindergarten! He took to school like a fish to water and loved every minute of it. Never once did I have to drag him out of bed in the morning and he never even said "But I don't want to go to school!" How many moms can say that? He even transitioned perfectly when we picked him up and moved to a different town and made him start school all over again, make new friends and get used to a new schedule... I was worried about him but I shouldn't have been! After we moved, a couple weeks later, Hyrum kept bringing home unfinished work. I thought all the kids had it but his teacher told me he was talking too much to the girl at his table and neither one of them were getting their work done. After that, he told me he gets his work done WHILE he talks... :) Hyrum is an easy going kid- the teachers all love him, the boys always say "Hey Hyrum!" and the girls are always giving him their phone numbers so he can call them. I am totally serious! Every week he comes home with a different girl's phone number in his pocket or has some girl calling him, or some girl's mom is getting my phone number so Hyrum can play this summer... Guess he's a real ladies man at school! Besides all this, Hyrum also got perfect scores on his report card- one down, 12 more to go. :) I was really worried about sending him off to a full day of first grade but he got a really fun first grade teacher who will just make him love school even more... she even has a full suit of armor and a king's throne in her classroom! Now I can't wait for him to start! I am so proud of my sweet Hyrum and I am so glad he has learned so much and made so many friends this year- I hope every year is as good as kindergarten!
