Am I brave enough?
So, I decided of any year, this would be the year for me to go to Girls Camp... I just got put in YWs, I don't have a baby, my boys are getting big, Zach isn't teaching Spring term and Wendy and Robby are both living in my basement so between the three of them, the kids should be well taken care of... But, now that it is getting closer and closer (I leave on Tuesday) I am starting to panic! I know, people do it all the time. Go on a cruise, take a vacation, business trips, leave the kids... but I just never have! The first night I was ever away from Hyrum was when I was in the hospital having Weston. And I've never not been with my Weston since the day he came home from the hospital! And now I'm taking off into the mountains on a bus with a bunch of silly, crazy girls with no phones or any sort of communication for a week! I'm afraid I'll cry all the way there and every night until the boys come to pick me up (They are coming a day early to get me so I can have ONE good night's sleep before we leave for California!) I will be SO happy to see them- I'm already looking forward to it! Yesterday I went to a weekly YW activity and when I got home there was a little note with a tiny little bunch of flowers taped on the door knob of the front door. It said "I love you Momy, Love Hyrum" That note is coming with me. :) Okay, deep breath, get on the bus, it's only four days, three nights...

Sharlee,
Our girls camp is the same week! I am only going up for two days though - I figured since one of the leaders is only going til Thu, I'll go Thu-Sat a.m. It'll be my first girls camp (the closest we had to camp in the Bahamas was a sleepover at a beach mansion), so this will be interesting. Tell Zach he can call Kevin and they can talk while we're gone to camp.

I'm with you, Sharlee! I have the hardest time leaving my kids overnight. After 8 years of marriage, we finally took a trip together last year without the kids and it was blissful. It took concentration for me to not miss my kids the whole time, but I had to force myself to enjoy each moment of our getaway since that's what it was ;) I think your boys are so lucky to have a mom who loves them so much!
You are so brave! We will miss you while you are gone but put on a smile and just enjoy it. It's all you can do! I bet those YW leaders are so happy to have you!
Go and have FUN!! The boys will have a blast with their Daddy! Who knows you might want to go out again sometime without them- of course not anytime soon :)
