Saturday is a busy day!

I know... too many blogs for one day BUT we had such a crazy fun day today I couldn't resist:

We got up, had biscuits and gravy for breakfast, clean the house for Sunday and then went to the BYU duck pond with Jade, Jordan and Jessica to see all the new baby ducks. They are so cute! I had to keep taking pictures of the most perfect little yellow ducky because it was so darling
Isn't' it so cute? Then there was a little duck that kept getting up on the turtle log but I missed the best pictures when he was right between the two turtles. Here's what I got:
He just liked the crusty old turtles, I guess.

Here's the kids feeding the ducks bread, well, some of them ate more bread than they fed the ducks...:

This was one brave duck who wasn't afraid to come up close to get his food.

This was my favorite little duck family with a mommy, daddy and babies. Watching the ducks brings out the motherly duties in me... while we were there two teenagers grabbed a baby duck and was running around with it while the mother duck chased them with all her other little babies running behind her. Oooh, I was so mad! I jumped up and told them they better quit it NOW. ( Jade can vouch for me!) That is not a funny game to play with a mom!

So after the duck pond, we went home, changed our shoes and went to IKEA... just a little stop to grab some shelf brackets, curtain rods, chair pads, and a reading lamp for our bedroom- some things are so cheap it's worth the trip. Especially if you go to Cheesecake Factory afterward! (sorry, Kris, you already had a babysitter and date set up or I would have called you...) Sadly, we did have to wait an hour and 45 min. for our table... during this time we realized Weston's precious 'babby' (his blankie) had been left at IKEA. That made for a quick stop on the way back... but back to the fun stuff. So when we came out of IKEA the sun was shining but it was still raining which means Rainbow! It was the most amazing rainbow just sitting on the ground- who knew the pot of gold was in Draper!

Just for a little perspective:

You can see the mountains up above the rainbow- look how bright it is! I thought is was awesome!
So then we went on up to Cheesecake Factory (again, sorry Kris!) and met Giff and Jennie there for some delicious cuisine and divine cheesecake (I recommend the 30th anniversary cheesecake- it is so yummy!) and while we were there, guess who walked in to make a reservation... Meagan Joy. Most of you probably say, who? But the American Idol fans will know she is the token Utahan from this season, the single mother with the huge tattoo. Anyway, it was just cool to say we saw her (even thought we never voted for her- her dancing was too weird!) I should have grabbed a picture of her but before I worked up the nerves, she was already gone... oh, well.
And that was the end of our lovely, busy Saturday. Now for a busy Sunday... :)

Awww! Such fun adventures! We wish we could have them with you! Say "hi" to all the boys for us. (And we even know who Meagan Joy is! We've watched a little AI on the internet just to keep in touch with our American culture.)

That rainbow is amazing! And I will forgive you for going to Cheesecake Factory without me this time but we definitely need to plan a date! Thanks for letting us tag along on your hike up the "Y". My kids keep saying "Let's go again! We really miss it up there!"
