So, the week after school started, we took a trip to St. George. It was fabulous. It was pretty much the first vacation I've been on since having a tiny babe... and she was 10 months old! Anyway, we started out by heading to Sand Hollow- a red rock rimmed reservoir with clear, warm, beautiful water. Zach had been scuba diving there before and he was kicking himself for not bringing at least some fins and a mask. It was just lovely.
The boys climbed around on the rocks and we all took turns watching the little ones while the others swam across the lake to the 'island.' There were so many rocks and caves poking up out of the water that it was fun to explore. It's just too bad there weren't any cool creatures around!
Afton was a pretty cool creature, though:)
After swimming, we headed to the hotel for the night. In the morning, we woke up, ate breakfast, and then went to the big rock park up above St. George. I strapped Ani into the backpack and we went hiking about, exploring little crevasses and climbing rocks to tiny arches. We ran back to the hotel to get a little extra swimming in at the hotel pool before heading over to the temple. There, I had such a great experience as I got to go with Mom and Dad, Nanette and Joe, Robby and Lauren, Wendy, Cameron, Brandon, and Kristi as Grandma Judy went through the temple for the first time. Not only did she receive her endowments but as we walked into the Celestial room, we were ushered into the sealing room inside. Once all the friends and family were there, Grandma Judy was sealed to Grandpa Bob for time and all eternity- yay! I felt so much gratitude to Grandma for taking such big steps in her life, big changes like joining the church, that would make it possible for our Grandpa to have his work done and then be sealed- now we can all be linked together! There was a beautiful spirit and such a good feeling present that I know he was happy too. Thanks Grandma! We love you!
It was one great trip.
