Have you ever tried taking pictures of an 11 year old boy? I think it's just as tricky as photographing a two year old! At least this boy's personality can be seen through these pictures...
A little goofy,
Stylish, handsome, gross, classy, grumpy, quiet
and just an every day cheese ball. I'm pretty sure he hasn't changed since he was two. Except for growing taller. He has certainly done that especially in the last year. I wish I'd measured him every two weeks just to see exactly how fast he was really growing! On his birthday, he was 96 lbs and 5'6.5". He is quickly catching up to his mother...
In the morning of his birthday, Hyrum opened presents. He got... a potato. Because, every time I asked "Hyrum, what do you want for your birthday?" He would say "A potato" so that's what he got. Well, he also got a cool water bead gun from Weston, a staple remover and the Lego movie. We had an adventure for lunch at Golden Corral- Daddy brought small bills and dared Hyrum to eat different foods to earn the money. He ate collard greens, shrimp, crab salad, fish, deviled eggs and even liver- sick. But, he earned $40 so the next thing to do was a shopping trip to spend it!

Hyrum found an awesome remote control car and a lego set. Perfect. Then we went to see How to Train Your Dragon 2 at the Towne Cinemas. Kristi's fam, Kobi's fam, and Grandpa Largey met us there for the movie.
After that, we went home to open presents...
and eat a delicious 4 layer chocolate cake... it was almost as tall as Hyrum! (kind of)
My Hyrum is still a fast reader, a good baby sitter, a fast eater, a quick memorizer, doesn't like to clean his room, make his bed or be the center of attention-whether giving a talk, in the Primary Program, being called on to pray, presenting in school, etc. But, he's finally realizing he's good at sports, music,etc- he's mostly just afraid to try new things! School this year should be good- he even came home after the second day and said, I quote, "I don't know why, but I'm kind of excited for homework!" Mrs. Billings is an exciting teacher:).
This kid is just growing up before our eyes- his skin and his attitude might push him to being a teenager too soon. But, he'll still always be my sweet boy!
