Arrow of Light and other Fun stuff...

Hyrum turned 11, as we well know, but before that, he also earned his Arrow of Light!  Sister Smith even dressed up like a Native American just for him and did the whole ceremony to graduate him from the program and cross over into 11 year old scouts.  He looked great with his war paint and his arrow plaque.  Good job, Hyrum!

Weston has also been working on lots of things and has earned multiple beads and belt loops- scouts is fun!

The boys finally competed in enough piano contests to earn their one hundred points and receive their gold cups- these aren't just plastic cups with a generic name plate. No, they are heavy metal with their names- totally worth the pressure!  They both did a great job playing at the recital on the big grand pianos. Grandma Norviel is so great to set these recitals up and let them get the experience. Hyrum doesn't agree. He got his gold cup and he is DONE. I don't blame him- I hate performing/competing too!
Afton, though, has been planning what song she will play at the next recital. She practices playing along with songs on the MP3 player all the time.:)
Another fun thing we did was take a Sunday walk up the canyon with Giff and Jen's family... the leaves are changing! Fall time is coming up already and I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet. But it sure is lovely!

One more: Ani loves to chase poor Jaggy around the house. He puts up with her most of the time as she bangs on him and squeals.  He doesn't appreciate the fur pulling so we are trying to teach her "soft!"  She just loves him, though!
