Special day for the Largey family- times two! We decided it would benefit everyone all around to have a combo Baptism/Blessing day on December 28th, 2013. Weston was baptized and Anika was blessed and all the family was there. It started a little chaotically after we got set up and THEN Ani was ready to eat. So, I found a quiet spot to feed her and she ate. and ate. and ate... by the time I got in the room, the Bishop Miller was already starting. Meanwhile, we got ONE picture of Zach and Weston- and none in the white clothes. Oh, well.
Weston invited some of his friends to come and his best friend, Camilla did come. He was excited to see her there!
Grandma and Grandpa Norviel, Grammie and Grandpa, Rick and Cathy and ALL of the Smith side and Largey side families were there (excepting Wendy who is still serving in Michigan). How blessed we are with family!
We sang "If You Could Hie To Kolob" for the opening song- It was Weston's pick, of course, and he has all the verses memorized. He's just awesome like that. Then, Aunt Lauren gave a great talk on baptism and Daddy baptized Weston with Grandpa Largey and Pa as witnesses.
The girl cousins sang a verse of Book of Mormon stories and a verse of I Am a Child of God and then Grandma Largey gave a talk on the Holy Ghost, which was also great. He received the Spirit surrounded by a huge, loving group of the best Priesthood holders around and Daddy gave a him a great blessing too. His Primary teacher, Sister B. wrote it all down for him.
Then, we had a Naming and Blessing of our little Anika! She was sweet and happy the whole time, cooing right along with Daddy's voice. She was blessed with joy, a sweet, peaceful spirit, a willingness to serve and choose the right and many other blessings.
Again, she had this great group of men in the circle. And, a beautiful winter-time blessing dress made by Maama. So pretty!
It was definitely a special day for our family! We are so glad we have Weston with us and that he made such a great choice to be baptized a member of the Church. He has such a tender, sweet spirit and I know he will be able to do many things with it. And, we are so glad Anika joined our family this year. She is already such a fun, happy girl and just the perfect angel when she feel good.
I love my little family!
