The 4th, One Awesome Baptism and a Bishopric Reunion

The 4th of July started a little Non-traditional... we skipped the parade and went straight to Seven Peaks for a morning swim with Kristi and DJ's family. Then we jumped back on the band wagon and headed to the park with Grandma and Grandpa for a picnic lunch.  I guess the swimming wore us out because we ALL took naps that afternoon and were ready for a BBQ at our house with all the Largey's plus watching fireworks at the temple grounds. A great day for celebrating our country!

A couple weeks back, my mom called with some incredible news: Grandma Judy had been taking the missionary discussions and was getting baptized on July 13th. What!? What a happy surprise!  We took the little trek down to the warmest part of the state for a beautiful baptism performed by Uncle Rick. It was so inspirational to hear Grandma's testimony, how she's been prepared little by little to get to this point, and then to come out of the church to an amazing double rainbow.  My favorite quote was from sacrament meeting, the next day, when a member of the bishopric said "It's not every day that you have someone who, the day before wasn't a member, gets baptized, and then next day could be the Relief Society General president." :)
We got together that night- these are all the 'kids' and spouses with Grandma.
Sunday we had a picnic up in the Red Rocks of Dixie and I had quite the time keeping the boys from scaling the rocks in their Sunday clothes... not to mention Robby.
We also stopped by the temple to walk through the visitor's centers. That temple is so white and glowing against the red rocks.
Cute kids

Hyrum took this great picture for us:)
We left St. George just in time to get to Bishop Bliss's in Spanish Fork for a Bishopric reunion BBQ- it's been quite a while since we've seen most of these people and it was fun to get together and catch up on life!
