Jeremiah Johnson- 2013

It was cub scout day camp time, once again and Hyrum had been saving his money for a pocket knife for weeks.  Mommy volunteered to go as a leader because as activities go, this is a fun one(and to keep an eye on Hyrum).  The week before the big day, two boys had to leave town and wouldn't be back before day camp SO the next two boys to come into cub scouts were bumped up into their places.  Turned out, Weston was the next on the list. He and Hagen got to pretend to be scouts for a day and they had a blast!  Their day camp leader girl said "I have to ask, are Weston and Hagen brothers?" She was surprised to hear that No, they weren't BUT Hyrum and Weston were!  She was also shocked that Hyrum was only 9- I'm pretty sure he was one of the tallest boys there...

We started with learning about flags and trying to stay warm in the sunlight.
Then we did a little astronaut training on a climbing wall- not sure what Weston is actually doing...

but he did make it on the wall.

Then the boys did a little BB gun shooting and  practiced with bows and arrows.

Weston got two arrows in the bag and Hyrum hit all three in the target! Pretty impressive.

A little team work is always encouraged in Cub Scouts, as Weston learned.

We finished up with flag ceremony- I think they enjoyed it!
