| 1. How did you and your husband meet? After two years of college in Arizona, I transferred up to BYU and lived with my grandparents in Provo. Turns out, Zach's parents also lived in that ward. He came home from his mission about a year later and we were in the same singles ward together... Singles wards: they work! I asked HIM to come shooting with me (I have a .22) in January, we were engaged two days before I graduated from BYU in April, and married in June. How long have you been married? We have been married 9 1/2 years- wow, that seems like a long time! How many kids do you have? We have Hyrum who is 8, Weston who is 5 and Afton who is 16 months 2. What is your current calling? I am presently the Young Women's president and I love playing with the girls! What has been your favorite calling ever and why? Hmmm, probably YW advisor because I got to do all the fun stuff without being in charge. :) But, someday I hope to be the Achievement day leader – wouldn't that be the best calling? (hint hint...) 3. How do you fill your day?--Do you work? Are you in school? What are your free time hobbies? A day in the life: I wake up, get the kids breakfast, get Hyrum off to school, do a little walking, get my jobs done/ house clean, babysit my neice 3 days a week, take Weston to school, do something fun (if my jobs are done) like read a book, make a crafty thing, play with Afton, sew, bake or get errands run; pick the boys up from school, make dinner, go to bed... That's very generic but it covers most days. :) I also love to be outside, up a mountain, playing with my extended family or Zach's family, reading stories with my kids or enjoying one of Zach's fancy dinners. 4. What is your favorite scripture/favorite scripture topic? I had a hard time picking just one but this is one of them: Alma 37:46 46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever. I love that it says the way is easy- it's all prepared for us, all we have to do is follow the way our Father in Heaven planned out for us. I don't like dwelling on hard things in life... I'd rather enjoy it! Like Pres. Hinckley said "You can't go through life sucking on a pickle." :) 5. Which principle of the gospel do you have a great testimony about? How did you gain that testimony? I love the fact that we always have the Holy Ghost with us (if we are righteous) to help us through this life. When I was 16 I wasn't so sure if prayers were really answered or what the Comforter felt like. I said one sentence in prayer and before I could even finish I had the strongest, warmest feeling wash over me and I knew the Holy Ghost was real. |
