'Play'ing with Afton

A couple months ago, Afton and I went on a GNO with the girl cousins to see "Cinderella" at Mountain View High School.  She LOVED it.  And ever since, she's been saying "Mommy, we need to go see another play again!"  So, I kept a sharp look out for another play she would enjoy, and what do you know- PG high school put on "Beauty and the Beast!" She dressed up in her Belle dress and off we went.
She was tired by the end but she liked it. My cousin Katie was also playing bass in the orchestra pit:bonus!  Though, if you ask Afton about the play, the thing that stood out most to her was that during intermission we ran out to hit the bathroom.  A stage crew girl was standing there and told us to go through the cafeteria to the other bathroom to avoid long lines- so we did.  But when we had washed up and come back out of the bathroom, the lights in the cafeteria were off and the doors were all locked-nice!  We ended up having to go outside (without our coats) to get back around to the auditorium.  Afton says almost daily "Mom, remember we got locked out? And we had to go outside? Why?"  It was pretty traumatic...

But, we had another play to go to.  The Scera did a 'youth play' (meaning it's only an hour) of Rapunzel called "A Very Hairy Fairy Tale."  It was awesome.  The characters were amusing, the songs were fun and they interspersed pop culture through out the play (meaning it was also fun for the adults!).  We highly recommend it!

Afton got to talk to Rapunzel after the play and she felt pretty special.  This girl could be a Disney voice- she was incredible!

Did I ever tell you how fun it is to have a girl around?  Well, I love it!
