Hyrum's Brains

This is Hyrum.

He is my oldest son and one of the silliest kids I know.  But, did you know he is also smart?  It's true, you can be silly, crazy, a little dorky and still be smart.  How do I know? Because he is.  He always scores high on his tests, usually getting 100%+ because he always gets the bonus points.  He does awesome in spelling without ever practicing.  He's on the high honor roll for having straight A's!
But, a month ago, I put his smarts to the test and took him to the Advanced Learning Lab test.  This is like the test of all test- kind of like an ACT for kids: 4 hours long, with various sections, breaks, facilitators, etc.  And guess what- he passed it with flying colors!  He had a composite score of 89% which was good enough to win him a place at Cherry Hill- the magnet school for the A.L.L kids.
Yes, it's a little scary to commit to going to a different school with different kids with more work and possibly more homework BUT it's an awesome opportunity to learn more, be a better student and get into great programs for middle school and high school.  It's basically a life altering event.  We are so Proud of Hyrum!
