Just fun stuff to do!

I survived my busy time last week so THIS week we played! On Thursday, Kristi, Lexi and Lydia came over for a tea party -which I should have taken a picture of because it was beautiful- and then Kristi and I got crafty and made satin flower hair clips. Um, they were a little habit forming and I just kept making more and more... :)

On Friday, Hyrum's class hosted a Mother's Day social where they performed poems and songs for all the mom's, gave us their Mother's day books and treats. I need to immortalize Hyrum's book digitally because the pictures are so cute!

Here's me and my big boy!

On Saturday, we got our jobs done and picked up Maddy to go to the Museum of Peoples and Cultures for their annual block party.

We learned about grinding corn, spinning wool, making baskets, tatting lace, the Natives of Utah, and even got to see some Indian Dancers; including the Hoop dance which the kids thought was pretty awesome.

The kids got to do their own 'archeological dig' by digging for arrow heads and beads in a big sand box. Once they found their artifacts, they turned them into necklaces and bracelets. (You can kind of see these above...)

Later, we went up the canyon to enjoy the sun and warm weather, roast hot dogs and marshmallows, and play a little catch- I just loved watching Zach and Weston playing with the foot ball. What a cute daddy!
Maddy hung out with us all day which was great for me because the boys went Mother's day shopping and left me alone for a while- Maddy and I made some more hair clips- this time out of felt. And then, the boys went to bed and Zach left to watch a Jazz game so Maddy and I watched a chick flick and made more clips- I was glad to have a girl around! Thanks, Maddy!
