Spring Break!

Here are the five travelling kids! They were so good!

We got to go to Roswell for spring break and party with Maama and Pa and Cindy- the only child left at home. The husbands couldn't go so Kristi and I packed up our five kids under six in her van with all of our luggage and took the 14 hour drive (14 with lots of potty stops and playing at Burger King...) down to New Mexico to hang out in the sun! Yes it was more windy than Utah but WE did not have to suffer through the snow! The kids played in the back yard with the neighbor kids, on the tramp, with the dog, on the fort, with the cap guns, having picnics, etc. while I got to read four books, play piano, go through old toys, talk to my mom, shop around a bit, go for bike rides and walks, see cute houses, etc. What more could you ask from a vacation? We also played at the Zoo park and the alien park, saw Monsters vs. Aliens 3-D, went to Cici's for pizza (and bread sticks!) and went to cub scouts with Maama to learn about dinosaurs and even blast a volcano or two. :) Kristi and I also went with my dad to an International Police Academy graduation- that was quite an experience! We got to shake hands with all of the participants from the session who were from Namibia, Nigeria, Seychelles, and Mauritius. The whole point of the program is to give these people a little more training in their fields and to get their names and numbers, e-mail addresses, and friendships so that when something happens around the world, the US had direct connections to the police in those countries. They encourage the graduates to keep in contact with each other, too, so that they always have connections to the other countries without going through customs and embassies and such... kind of interesting! Anyway, here are pictures of the trip...

Good pictures! I had to blow up that picture of us at the zoo to see what Cindy was holding and lo and behold...it was Lexi's nasty blankie! How embarrassing! It looks better when she's holding it all wadded up!

It's fitting that you saw MvA in Roswell. Hahaha. What did you think of it? Is it worthy of a special trip to the movie theater for our girls? -since, apparently, Hannah Montana is NOT going to be screened here:(
