First day of School!

And then, summer ended and school began...

 This was a big year for our family.  Hyrum finished up elementary school and was ready for Junior high and Afton got to start kindergarten.  She was more than a little excited!

Hyrum had a 7th grade preview day the day before the rest of the students started so we dropped him off at Lakeridge Junior High at 8 and picked him up at noon.  He came home pumped about seeing so many of his friends and being able to open his locker.  So far, 7th grade has been a breeze compared to 5th and 6th grade!  He still hangs out with Corbin, Xavier, Jens, Zac, Jonathan at lunch and at App club after school.

Weston started up 4th grade a little slow because half of his friends are in the other class and his teacher just isn't Mrs. Roden... BUT,  Mrs. Graham has been great, he got the part of Chip for the school play of Beauty and the Beast, he's learning violin in music, and he got High Honor roll for the first term so I think he is doing pretty well.:)

My Afton, Afton had a little separation anxiety ALL SUMMER, not wanting to go to Primary, or to friends' houses or even play at the park with cousins if I wasn't there... So, I was a little nervous for the first day of school.  But, the first day came, and Afton got dressed up cute in her new clothes, curled her hair, put on her new back pack...

and went right to her class with no problem. Yay!  Her teacher, Mrs. Johnson is super nice and super fun and Afton comes home each day from school and acts just like Mrs. Johnson... She knows all the attention signals like "Cla-ass!" (and Ani answers 'Ye-es!') or "Eyes up!" (and Ani puts her hands on her head) and she assigns daily 5 groups and says "Nicely done!" to her 'students'.  Not only that, but she has picked up reading SOOO quickly!   School is great!
