Tea Party time and School House Rock!

My dear Grandma Norviel had her 77th birthday on Sunday the 21st which also happens to be Queen Elizabeth's birthday. So, to honor her (my grandma, not the queen) I hosted a tea party!
Kristi brought English scones, 'biscuits', and pickles wrapped in cream cheese and sliced turkey-tasty little tidbits... I made a fruit salad, cake balls and grape juice (sorry, no real tea) and Mom brought pecan tassies.  It was all yummy.
Afton was Oh, so excited and dressed up Fancy Nancy style with her lace dress and lace umbrella and Easter hat. She and Lydia had their own little tea party table Afton set and decorated.
And here's the guest of honor! You would never know she's already 77 with all the things she does- she had just finished with choir practice by the time she came to my house at 10:30- right on time. She is amazing!

Now to Hyrum...  So, last semester, we talked to the 4-H people over the school play and mentioned that Hyrum would like to be on the stage crew this year.  In Hyrum's words "I do NOT want to be IN the play. That would be SO embarrassing.  But, I think stage crew would be awesome."  At first the lady was skeptical and said "Oh we don't need many kids for that and we already have who we need.  Well, how old is he? Is he responsible?"  It kind of felt like, um NO.  But when we walked back over to turn in the paper (Hyrum was signing up for fencing at the time) the first lady had talked to the 4-H director who actually knows the kids and must have said something positive about Hyrum because she said to make sure to put Hyrum's name down for stage crew and they'll make sure to use him... All right!
Anyway, Hyrum worked hard, went to every practice, was VERY responsible and had a TON of fun.  Some of his good friends had big parts in the play and Hyrum had a blast watching them from behind the scenes. I think just being part of a large, interactive project like this was so good for him.  They all did a great job and put the play on 5 times, including one show for the school. And every night when I picked Hyrum up, he was SO wound up!  Here are some pics of him and his buddies:
Hyrum and Tyler- who did an awesome rendition of Elvis.  He has a great voice and a funnier personality.
And Hyrum and Elias- who was one of the main School House Rock kids. He sang "The Bill" song and I'm pretty sure it was the best part of the night!
