Weston's Skippito Birthday

Weston decided probably two years ago that he was going to have a Skippyjon Jones birthday party and I thought for sure he would forget about it or find something he wanted more but, boy was I wrong!  We went full on out for a Skippito party!
The first order of business was making the pinata which we had never done before.  I thought MAYBE we could just find a bumble bee pinata somewhere and do it the easy way but no.  So we blew up a balloon, made some flour/water paste and covered it in strips of newspaper the old fashioned way. Meet Mr Bumblebeeto:

I thought he turned out great for a first time pinata maker(and it even worked well- not too thick or too thin!)

The night before Weston's birthday we watched Bryson, Lexi and Lydia while their parents went to dinner and they just stayed the night to help me set up for the big day. (Later, Afton told me "Lexi's name Lex." She's trying to figure out all the names people have :) Anyway, so we set up a treasure hunt to his presents and put streamers up on the door... it was 6:30 when I could hear the kids up talking, though for some reason they thought I said they couldn't wake us up until 7 (um, don't remember saying that but thank you very much!) and soon they were off searching for presents!

So, Lydia had a hard time going to sleep the night before so she stayed up to help set up... and then slept through all the present stuff. It wasn't until after lunch that she said "Hey, what about the treasure hunt?  Weston needs to open presents!" Whoops!
Weston got some shirts, Pete the Cat books, a new Skippyjon book and a big remote control car from us.
We cleaned up, made cupcakes, played toys, and Weston and I went to lunch at Brick Oven- yum! Then we headed over to the Church for a fiesta!

The kids colored chihuahuas and made maracas:
We had the jelly bean cupcakes and Skippyjon Jones books set up with Weston pictures
We had a fiesta table with chips and lots of dips plus Maama made tortilla rolls and we drank fiesta punch.
Then Daddy read the first Skippyjon book to all the kids (cousins and two of Weston's friends- Hagen Smith and Injun Lee).  Daddy only used SOME of the regular voices...
Then Weston open piles of presents (while wearing his Skippito mask)
And we sang happy birthday and ate some cake
Grandma Norviel brought some of the cousins who made Weston a giant Skippito card!
