Spring Break!

After much anticipation, Spring Break FINALLY arrived. I don't know who was more excited, me or Hyrum, though I'm thinking it was me... One week of not rushing in the mornings, doing homework, finding lost shoes, babysitting... Just playing and doing what ever we wanted! I loved it!
Our first order of business was a little trip to IKEA and the Living Planet Aquarium, where we bought season passes. If anyone wants to go, let us know! This will be our year of learning everything there is to know about fish. :) We watched the Jelly fish, sea horses, octopus, penguins, electric eels (the list could just keep going on) though, petting the sting rays was by far the coolest thing!

The next day, we went to story time and then to feed the ducks at the BYU botany pond- there were ducks of every size and color and boy were they brave! They kept snatching bites right out of Weston's hands! We also saw Largey Grandpa working in his office, left Daddy a treat at his office and tried all the experiments in the Eyring Science center- I love BYU campus for a free day out!

The next day was finally starting to feel like spring- no snow, no freezing winds, etc- so we pulled out the new rackets and played a little tennis. I think the boys could be getting pretty good by the end of the summer!

The next day, we did precisely what we wanted to do- sat around in our jammies doing sand art,

growing sponge bugs,

and finally getting dressed so we could go out to eat. ( I love those days. Especially when the boys play SO well together- superheroes of course. Electric man and "I have every super power there is" Man... :) Weston won Two free kids meals to Mimi's cafe at the Orem Easter egg hunt so we took advantage of that deal! They brought Hyrum the wrong pancakes and then promised him the right ones- umm, he ate BOTH plates of giant pancakes, PLUS the fruit, the juice and the dessert. I just don't know where it all goes because he hasn't gained an ounce!
Weston did great eating his fruit and almost every bite of HIS pancake BUT, he was disgusted by the 'dirt' cups for dessert. As you can see by his face, he did NoT want 'dirt' on his gummy worm from the cup... Poor Weston!

The next Monday morning was a tragic day when Hyrum had to go back to school and life started rushing by again... Now I'm counting the days until summer!

Sounds like a great week! We need to play some time. I'll have some time off in June so let's get together!
